What exactly does this skid plate protect on the 2010 model. The skid plate seems kind of small, is it mostly for airflow?

Ha ha ha yeah I hear what your saying. If you have a Rubi it does a lot. For the rest of us it's more a directional plate. It take the initial hit before the axle and diff hit.
