Default Sizing down rims

I know that if I size down to 15's or 16's I need to worry about back spacing. But if I size down to 17" rims do I still need to worry about back spacing at all?

I will most likely be running 35's

You will want about 4 1/2" BS for 35's.

No matter what size rim you will worry about back spacing.

I know tires are cheaper but why go down? Unless you are on 22s I'd go to 17s. More options for tie rod and drag link upgrades. 15s would be too tight for this.

And what back spacing should I be looking for...is there a good range?

Also, I want 15's because I like the look of more tire than rim, but also because I cannot keep affording tires for an 18" rim

I have 4.5 inch backspacing for my 15's and have no rubbing issues and I clear the calipers with no problem
