simple question about covering rope on 8000 winch
I'm trying to figure out a way to mount a license plate over the rope on my warn 8000 winch, mainly to keep the sun from deteriorating the rope but also to abide by the law in Texas. Any ideas on how to attach the plate to the 8000 cross bars? Thanks in advance! HBC

1) drill 2-4 holes in the plate if the plate holes are too far apart and just use some heavy duty zip ties aroung the cross bar and through the holes on the plate. that would be the least expensive route.
2) buy the warn soft winch cover for around $50 which woulod give you a whole lot more and better protection from the elements, then mount your plate to the bumper
i would be concerned about the plate hanging over the line while winching, so IMO i would go with option 2.

No law against visible pantie lines down here. If there were, there would be a lot of women and a few men off the street. The only reason I want to cover the synthetic line is to keep the harsh sun off of it. It's degrading it and it's not exactly inexpensive.
