I want to upgrade my shocks and I was looking at the Blisten Resevoir shocks model 7100 but I'm not sure what would equal 2.5" lift height? I have a TF BB and I want to upgrade the stock shocks and remove the Stock extensions to get a better ride and higher performance with the slight travel increase.

Idea's on what travel I should go with? 10" or 12" or more?

I know the Black diamond shocks for a 2 1/2 lift have a range from eye to eye of 15.5 to 26....Hope that helps

Yeah, I looked up my shocks the other day because I was looking at some Fox shocks (to go ahead and purchase and use for my future Rockcrawler lift) that were 31" extended and 19" collasped and how they compared to the Skyjacker 8000's that I'm runnning now. My Skyjacker fronts are 24.79" extended/14.56" collasped and the rears are 26.57"/15.69" so I have 10" of travel on the front and 11" on the rear with my current set up, 12' when I swith to the Fox shocks.

Ok I've think I've narrowed it down to 16.5 compressed and 25 extended. Does that sound about right?

agreed, I'm a little unsure if I'd need to get new brake lines? I'm now thinking between blisten, Rancho, Fox and Fabtech

I want the edelbrock with reservoir but I can't figure out the right combo. http://www.quadratec.com/products/pr...2&kw=edelbrock

Also I have to look closely but are the eye to eye or eye to stud. I forget as it's been about 3 months now since I've had them off but I recall they are stud.

if it helps any... for the front, you need a stud - eye shock and for the rear, you need an eye - eye shock with a bar pin.

and as far as lenghts go....

stock ----------------- 14.02"/21.93" (FRONT) & 14.69"/22.56" (REAR)
teraflex recomends - 16.51"/26.89" (FRONT) & 17.25"/28.09" (REAR) -- gives 10" travel

the teraflex shocks are for lifts between 2.5" and 3".


so with that, i think that http://www.quadratec.com/products/16010_700.htm and http://www.quadratec.com/products/16010_703.htm are the ones you want if you insist on an Edelbrock with a resevoir. in the front, you'll never worry about over compressing the shock, and you'll still get the recomended amount of drop. in the rear tho, you might want to keep the adapters. it'll push the shock down 2.5" and make it closer to what teraflex recomends but it'd be risky in over compressing the shock. If you do away with the rear extenders, then you'll loose some of the drop in the rear but will never over compress the shock.


and if it means anything at all, i'm getting skyjacker shocks and they have 12.5" of travel. i am not to fond of the resevoir.

Thank atomic, I've been talking to a few guys in 4 wheeler club and they say the same with the reservoir shocks. Not much gain for crawling for what you pay but would be better on a rally car or a vehicle in higher speed scenario.

That being said I'm now back too looking at many of the versions out there.
