Default side rail rust question

does anybody know roughly how long it will take a small scrape on my side rails to rust through? In general how long to side rails last before getting rusted out.

Many variables. Daily driver, weekend getter? Are you talking about Rubicon rocker gaurds or aftermarket? It would take a few years to rust completly through I would think. Depends on how much moisture it would see (daily driver driving through a lot of rain or salted roads in the winter compared to a rig that sits in the garage until the weekends). I have EVO rock sliders and after every trip I'll lightly sand any new scratches/scrapes and hit them with a thin coat of primer and sprayable bedliner.

I use to have the same ones when i lived in Boston and i had a few nicks in the powdercoating, didnt take long at all for it to start rusting.
I would use some rustoleum spray on bedliner to paint it where its chipped
