Default shrockworks frame mounted rock sliders

How much clearance difference is there between the Shrockworks rock sliders and a tub mounted rock slider like ********** PJ sliders.

It looks to me that the Shrockworks will hang about one or maybe two inches lower than the factory rubicon sliders. Nick, if you are reading this maybe you can answer these questions for me.

no, they aren't lower, just differently shaped. the pp ones don't have anything that extend out away from the body, allowing things like rocks and trees to get in close before hitting the slider. the pp ones wouldn't allow you to pivot off of trees well.

you have to remember, that the rock sliders still sit way above the frame anyway. sliders are made to protect that pinch seam/body area and give a smoother surface to pivot and slide on.

i have the shrockworks sliders. i do like how the pp ones have a panel that covers up, and makes a flat surface, of the area below the body to slide on, but they don't have anything that projects outward, so that is a deal-breaker for me.
if someone made sliders like the pp ones that had a shrockworks-like bar going outward from them, i would be sold.

Thanks mcnaught6, it sounds like you have seen a few of these. Without actually seeing any of these in person it is hard to get a complete idea of them from pictures.

Pignajeep, you sure love the PJ stuff

I am not too sure how the new PJ body mounted sliders would hold up to the abuse the Arizona rocks can dish out. It is very easy to fall 2+ feet onto a rock ledge and one of those missteps onto the rock tube itself could have enough leverage to bend your tub. Just a thought.

that I do,I was pointing out what mcnaught6 suggested , they need a tube bar, to push away from brush, tree's etc..

thats what they are...

I'm talking about the formed rockers that are attached to the tub...

the rockers I have are not made for hardcore abuse, but they do hold uo very well, to drops down on to them...

Im so torn between these and the shrockworks... The only thing I dont like about the PJ's, is the way they dont follow the door line very well on the 4dr. At least thats how it looks from the pics I ve seen here.

I know what you mean, the 4 door is also a prototype. It isnt production standards. I'm hoping to get a set soon, I like the fact the tube step sticks out further than mine..

I need a little more when were wheeling in the thickwoods.... I'd rather the step bounce off a tree than the tub, or door!

Hopefully the production versions look better, the PJ is my first choice with the shrocks a close 2nd. Good thing my wallet wont be reloaded enough until mid spring to buy them, so hopefully they are perfected by then. And I hear ya on the trees, we just missed one at raush creek. We were following W3CSX in his 2dr and almost didnt realize how tight the turn was. Had to back up and go a little wider to miss the tree. Those tubes would've came in handy.

Well I have the PJ body mounted ones on my Jeep and I personally think they will take a pretty good beating. I won't, however, be dropping them on a rock from 2ft up just to please you guys though. But if it happens some day, I feel comforable they will stand up as good as anything out there.

I have also had the shrockworks on mine and I am sure they would hold up to that abuse as well!
