2013 2-door JK, 2.5" TF BB, 17x9 wheels with 4.5" BS, and 315/70/17 Duratracs. I noticed right away that I was rubbing something when I would back up and turn the wheels either way (starts at about 90% of the way to lock). I finally looked this morning to see what the tires are rubbing and it is the front lower air dam.

Just confirming that this is expected. Everything I have read indicated that this set up shouldn't run into rubbing issues. I can just trim it, but wanted to throw it out there (if for no other reason than to answer a "will it rub" question).

Mine rubbed backing up with 295/70/17 Nittos and the 2.5 TF BB. I have the stock wheels with spacers but I it is to be expected. Initially I left it like that because it would scare the crap out of people when I was backing out of parking spaces, but I eventually just took it off and that totally solved the rubbing issue!

That's awesome, haha. Now that you mention it, it rubbed when I backed up in a parking garage the other day (garage amplified the sound) and I saw some people about 15 feet away duck. Wonder what they thought was going down?! I do live in Baltimore...

yes... I rubbed with 3.75bs wheels...took a hacksaw to the fins of the air dam

You can trim it off where the tire is rubbing and finish it up with a file or most people completely remove it.

I think I'll just remove it before the trail does it for me. I guess the downside is that the super sleek drag coefficient will drop from like 51 to 51.5. Maybe I can hang a brick from the drag link to help smooth air flow under my Jeep.

I had the same issue on my 2011 JK, I just trimmed off the lower corner where it was rubbing and that fixed the issue.

I replaced the air dam on my 2013 JKU with the Currie Enterprise tow/ skid plate (I flat tow the JKU to some trail events). This cured the issue and filled in the ugly space left behind when you just remove it.

Just take it off! Looks mean with it off =) Also if you want more clearance remove the bar it's connected to!
