Should I carry a spare tire?

Does anyone know of a rear tire carrier that you can attach to the body so you can convert the tailgate to drop-down style? Like a pick-up bed... I really wanna keep my aftermarket bumper and don't really want to spend the money on upgrading it. I'd thought about running with no spare as well and decided against it.

I don't carry a spare unless I wheel, then I strap it in the back. I like the no spare look, it's less weight, I can see behind my jeep better when backing up or parking and I am waiting for my parts to come in to convert the tail gate to a drop down.

Plenty of vehicles come from the factory without spares (Corvettes, Ferraris, Lamborghinis. etc...). That being said. You will hardly use the spare if ever, unless you are wheeling. I would definitely take it then. Larger after market tires are usually strongler and have more tread. The odds of needing your spare around town or what not is low. Carry a plug kit, they are light weight and there are tire shops are everywhere to fix it properly if needed.

I waited two months to wheel my Jeep after lifting it because that is how long it took to get a back ordered 5th 35"MTR...I do a lot of dumb things in my JKU, roll without a spare is not one of them.
Has come in handy two too many times so far.

I was out wheeling today, and I gave the spare tire dilemma some thought.. I think I am going to run with my 255/75 for now until I can get my gobi rack. Then I will keep my full sized spare at hme until I wheel, then I will throw it on the roof. I Just dont want all the extra weight of both the roof rack, front and rear bumpers, spare tire carrier and winch on my jeep. Does this sound like a good idea?
