Short rear bumpers???
In searching for a new front and rear bumper, I've found that most rear bumpers stop short in width with the stock fenders. Does anyone know why they are made like this? I think it looks a little funny since they don't flow with the fender line. Anyone have suggestions/pics on rear bumpers that are full width?
Thanks!

LoD and JCR have full width options.
The shorty rears look nice with flat fenders. For those of us that wheel, it's nice not having a bumper that sticks out and gets hooked on stuff or runs into trees. People usually destroy the ends of their stock bumpers and that's enough to get them looking for more clearance.

Makes sense what you are saying regarding the clearance of the bumpers. Never really thought of that.

I was in the same boat but after plenty of research I really grew to like the short rear bumpers especially for functionality as far as less to get hung up on and also saving weight. Full width steel bumpers can top out at a couple of hundred pounds with a big tire attached. Like having a fat guy stand on the back of your jeep all the time. Eventually decided to go lod shorty with tire carrier.
