Are shocks suppossed to.....
i just installed a black diamond 3 inch suspension lift with black diamond shocks.
previous shocks i have used have always slowly creeped to full extension when not under pressure. however, i noticed that when i upacked the black diamond shocks that they did not "slowly extend" on thier own.
is this normal? is this simply due to the type of shock?
thanks for the help in advance!

hydraulic shocks will not (usually) extend, they tend to just stay where they are and dampen the shock from the road surface.
gas filled shock are always under pressure and will extend to full length, which helps keep the tire on the road, but tend to give a little harsher ride.
i think that is right.
