Default Shocks... Ranch 7000 vs. Bilstien 5100

Well, just like the title says... which shock would you consider to be the better all around shock? I am hoping to get a better than stock ride if possible.

Why would I want to adjust them? Just curious... When would I want to adjust them? What situations? What's the benefit?

I have had them on many trucks and so on...

1)set them for every day street driving or for a long freeway caddie ride

2) set them for sporty / stiff street driving

3) set them for off roading

That sounds great. Very versatile. Is there any maintenance?

Can't say much for the other shock but I've been riding on the Blistien 5100 for a few weeks now and it's great. Can't go wrong IMO . Bilstien 5100 has my vote. I'm sure there is many threads on this topic too.
