Default Shocks

I currently have Rough Country 2.2 Shocks on my JK. Pretty sure the bushings have been worn down and the shocks are blown out. (Fluid and sweat around piston)

Being in the San Diego area, the roads... for lack of a better word... are atrocious. Potholes, bumps and just plain old bad.

I'm looking for a good pair of shocks for 80% on road 20% off road. I've looked at everything from King, Fox, Rancho, Bilstein.

What is everyone running and why? Looking to buy soon.

Bilstein #5100 would be my choice.

Have you contacted RC?

I think they'll warranty those... worth a shot at least

I'm a huge fan of the Kings, but what I'm running is overkill for 90% of the folks. I would look at their JK replacement series possibly. If not the Kings, than Bilstein or Old Man Emu's

I'd rather have overkill than to keep spending money in the same built shocks

Well said.

I was leaning towards Kings, but still need a little push to spend that much money on shocks.

The Kings are pretty damn nice, especially the triple bypass shocks I have from Offroad EVO. With the ability to adjust the ride however you like, it's hard not to really like these bypass shocks. Still this setup is really overkill for most people's need, but I do agree with you on only paying for something once!

Look to an adjustable shock. They work.
