My first lift was a Rough Country 2.5" BB with RC shocks. And they came with bump stops mounted on the shafts. Those shocks didn't last terribly long (maybe 20K miles). Can't say it was the bump stop design or it wasn't. But, this approach certainly is not used by any of the brands considered higher end. That should tell you something.

Personally I would not use this as the sole bump stop. However in addition to correct bump stops for the axle this is not a terrible idea. I believe in over building especially on the items that could potentially save you money in the future.

I have been eyeballing these too. Not for use as the sole bumpstop but to soften the bottoming of the suspension with weight etc. I am going to try them when I install my airbags and these as well. The reds look like they will compress easy under weight but give some resistance to the bottoming clunk of a flattend shock.

a couple buggies out here run them with no problems, but personally id rather not waste that little bit of travel, call me crazy, but ill use standard bumps or air bumps.
