Default Shock Review

Installed my new Rocksort shocks today to replace the 5100 Bilsteins. Why did I do that? The Bilsteins were good shocks off road for me but with E rated tires it was really hard even on small road joints and small sharp bumps for street. I wanted the soft ride over those sharp city bumps and now the RS shocks do that job nicely. With my sway bar gone (IE none) I thought the Jeep would sway even more but they held just like the Bilsteins. And larger obstacles they feel just like the Bilsteins.
The Bilsteins were in perfect shape still after 4 years with no leaks and a great scoop for my son as he has C rated 35" tires on 15" rims for his JK. Anyone considering the change should realise that my springs are MC so they are somewhat matched to them but most medium preload spring rates will work with these shocks. Won't be able to test the Rocksports until the spring as I am not a winter 4x4er in sub zero temps. Too hard if something goes wrong.

I hope this helps remove some of the stigma around shock buying as I was very surprosed when I drove it down some rough industrial Calgary streets.
