Default Shock Boots...Requirement or Usless?

I Recently purchased a new Teraflex 3" Lift for my 2008 Rubicon Unlimited and I was wondering why none of the kits on the market today come with the shock boots included. I see the stock shocks have them but are not sealed at the bottom so they can breath. So what do all of you fellow jeepers think are they a requirement or just plain usless.

we cut mine off on install.
All they do is hide mud and dirt in them that you can't clean.

100% useless, but i am in the great white north... salt and mud and crap just gets trapped in there and causes premature failure of the shocks

useless

the problem i found is because of dirt and condensation that gets trapped in the shock boot, this leads to very early shock shaft rusting

i dont use them and never will
