Default shifter ideas needed

I've thought about buying a new shifter knob for my Jeep, however, I can't seem to find one I like.

So.... I'm gonna try to build one. Alot of the ones I've seen for sale are resin cast with things inside... I've seen spiders, scorpions, snake heads, etc.
Personally, I don't know how I like those.

I've looked at the rock knobs, but I don't think they have any avail for the JK, due to it's lack of threads on the shift stick.

I've also seen molded ones in odd shapes, from Skulls, Frankenstein's monster, Longhorns, and other odd shapes. They don't seem like they'd be comfortable to use though.

So... I'm gonna try to make my own. I think a 2" ball shape would probably be comfortable (lets keep it clean here).

So, I'd like some ideas of what to place inside.

Gennie makes a shifter adapter to put pretty much any knob on the stock automatic shifter.

One idea that was suggested to me, is to place a quarter inside... one of the state quarters.

Maybe Virginia, because it's home, and where I'm from...

Maybe ND or SD, from 2006 quarters, since thats when the JK was purchased (not sure when SD quarters were released)...

Maybe a half dollar, like this one

i ordered one of the rock knobs fo rmine. was kinda leary of it at first but oncei got it ilove it. It feels good looks cool and i get alot of compliments on it. Went right on with one allen bolt. You take a chance though ive heard from some they get there sand there is nothing ergonomic about it at all. Mine was perfect though.

That is kind of a cool idea... I may have to try that one
Just have to remember it won't be real accurate, think of shifter position in 1st gear, 3rd, and 5th gear... but still cool!

So far, great ideas... keep them coming!

I've really liked the idea... what size hole did you use? I assume you bought a threaded one, and just ignored the threads?

I think you should mold a small watch face and a $100 bill in there. Because to me, this is a waste of time and money! Im J/K!!! Its your jeep. I love to see what people do to theirs that I would have never even cossed my mind. Never know what you will see on JK-Forum.

Post some pics when you do it.

I posted this question on Facebook... and lets just say I know some disturbed people.

To the girl on Facebook who suggested a phallus... I proposed the opposite... I asked her if I could user her as a mold... I believe boobage would be better to use (at least for me to shift).

I'll do it, if you supply it...
Not really a waste of money though, it'll cost $5, roughly...
... might be a waste of time though... not sure yet til I try... might be fun to learn though.

Now asking for $100 bill donations to place in my shifter knob... anybody?
