Default Set up ????'s

I have been reading and research most every thread on this board and others; however, I would like your views on this (another tire/wheel/lift question).

I know 35's will have rubbing issues, but I plan on getting MT/R's 305/70R/17 (34's) and this is my thinking:
Stock BFG= 32.05 and clear stock setup
2.5 BB adds 2.5" to stock height
MT/R= 34.1 Edit: 12.2 wide
With my thinking add 2.5 (BB) to 32.05 (BFG) and this will give me the tire size I should be able to clear as if I sat stock= 34.55 (MT/R is a .5" under this).

How does this logic sound?
I plan to run the MT/R's on my factory 7.5 rims. I know most would say 8" is the way to go, but most tires manufactures say 8.5-X so most go a half inch down in rim size (8"wheels) with the only dif being me going 7.5 vice 8 like goodyear says. What do you all think?

Cliff notes:
Will this work. 34.1" tires on factory wheels with a BB.

Default tires and lift

I think everything you're saying sounds about right. a lot of guys run your same set up. you might need spacers for your rims. there are a lot of examples that you can see around here.

Bump... Figured I would try one more time.

Some body on another board said this setup won't work because a stock ride discoed will rub and possibly rip the fenders off.

35's on 2.5" BB. 1.5" spacers needed on the stock wheels so the 12.5" wide tires wouldn't rub on the inside.

Default hmmm

I like the looks of those 35's on there. i also have a 2.5 BB but I am scared to put 35's on it in fear or rubbing. What is the back spacing on the stock wheels. The wheels I am looking at have 3.75" back spacing. i am still trying to figrue it out if I will have a rubbing issue if I go with 35's.

The 7.5" factory rims are ok, but, the BS is too much for the width of your TIRE, you want more like 4.5- 4.75" of BS, vs the OEM BS of 6.25"

A 1.5" wheel spacer will allow you to keep the stock rims, and get that BS.

Your plan assumes that your increase in RIDE HEIGHT from the lift will allow a taller tire to fit...but, that misses the concept of that tire stuffing up into the wheel wells under compression.

A suspension lift increases the size of the tire that will clear at ride height, or reasonably flat ground....not off road and stuffed, under hard braking, or turning, etc.

A Body Lift DOES make room for larger tires under stuffage conditions....an SL doesn't....unless you sacrifice uptravel by installing bump stop extensions.

All you need to clear a larger diameter tire with a BL is 1/2" of BL per inch larger
(than would have fit) tire....or 1" of BL for 2 extra inches of tire diameter.

For an SL, you need ALOT more than that per inch of tire...as you are trying to stop uptravel with spring rate, etc...a much messier proposition.

I like to combine the Bl and SL, and get the best of both worlds.

In your case, a 1" BL added to the plan would be perfect.

IE: 2.5" BB, 1" BL, set of wheel spacers to provide 1.5" less BS.
