I am currently trying to decide to bother with a CAI or not. Not expecting much of a performance increase but extra mileage would be a plus. I will also be changing out the exhast at the same time. You have me thinking that this may be the way to go.
increase in mileage and not worried about the winter months getting into the engine?

BTW it does look cool!!
Ok. I gotta be honest here and say that I don't know what CAI stands for. I'm sure it'll be obvious when you tell me and I'll feel like an idiot. So go ahead.

I made this purchase because I was hoping to increase performance after installing 35" tires and losing what little torque the vehicle had in a stock configuration. I chose a sealed air unit because in reading reviews there didn't seem any drawback vs an open unit and sealed should = less dirt and mud/snow/slush in the filter. Right?

Next step is the flashpaq. These two mods seem to be the low hanging fruit. Cheap and easy. After that it's $3000 for new gearing. I'll probably go 4.88 instead of 5.13 because the pinion head on a 5.13 is smaller and weaker and I do some highway driving and A lot of towing.

A real CAI should have the filter placed outside of the engine bay.

Every CAI I've seen for the jeep is actually a SRI(Short Ram Intake)

Then you've never seen a snorkel

I thought everybody gave up on throttle body spacers long ago. The Viper throttle body sounds interesting, but the spacers, really?

I think the term spacer miss represents. If you read about the technology behind the most common brands you'll see they are designed to deliver turbulent air rather than just add air volume.

So after the install of the aFe intake and spacer, did you notice any better power or throttle response? Do you have an exhaust system, before or after the aFe upgrades?

Thanks
