School me on axle cs and gussets
I am looking to strengthen my D30 up front with 4.88s
I am running 35s and want some extra insurance especially as I am looking into lockers this summer. I daily drive my jk but I do wheel it a lot...I would say pretty moderately ...occasionally pretty hard but def not extreme lol.
Someone school me . I'm a bit of a newb when it comes to axles
Also any reccommendations for kits?

With a d30 grab what's cheap ie Terraflex sleeves, nitro, eco etc....
Nitro is a slip fit (freeze it bang ot in and done) the others are weld, drill holes in axle and slip sleeve in the weld it with the holes and outside where it we t in.
They are all the same no real difference unless you have a d44 front then run a nitro because it will allow 35 spline rcv axles.
I ran a d30 with c-gussetts, Eaton locker (has 4 pin design super strong) and it heldgood.
Rebel has a super 30 kit or if you build it then
Sleeves, lower /control arm gussetts, c-gussetts, diff cover, chromoly shafts....

Yes. The sleeves keep the tubes straight you could also do an external gusset weld on , the c's have a bending issue so gussetting those keep it straight.
I would do lower control arm gussetts as well it just keeps those thin tabs together besides they are cheap.
Aside of that the rest is gearing, axles etc...

Artec makes a good kit its an outer truss with the c gussets & LCA skid also has a track bar bracket. I went with the truss because I read you can't run some chromoly Axel shafts with the sleeves in a d30. That's something else you might want to upgrade is you shafts go with any chromoly

I just had EVO c-gussets & LCA skids installed along with Nitro sleeves. You can install the front LCA skids now and not have to worry about your control arms, you just have to load the front into place then the rear, no big deal. I went with EVO C's because they are more streamlined than others and won't hang up on things. Then went with Nitro sleeves because of the labor involved in installing weld in sleeves. Froze them overnight and they slid right in. Then I welded the end to beef it up. Do your ball joints at the same time, it's well worth it. $800 Labor $400 Parts.
Be careful if you go with RCV's or chromoly shafts, that makes your Ring and Pinion the weak point on a D30. A shit ton more expensive to replace gears rather than an axle shaft...
