The great salt we use here in NJ has wrecked havoc on my beloved Elkas and I now have a bit of surface rust on the hose and the main cylinder.

Anyone experience this before on these or other shocks? Any advice on cleaning these bad boys?

Mine haven't rusted , but steel wool should fix it up. Try a small spot, see what happens.

use some 000 steel wool with some glass cleaner. once they are cleaned up, spray them with a few coats of clear paint to protect them.
