Default Running without a steering stabilizer?

I broke my 3rd unit. (I really need the Woods relocation bracket) This time, I dented the body and ultimately broke the shaft. Now, I'm running with no steering stabilizer at all. I don't notice any handling difference at all.

Anybody else running w/o the SS?

thanks
Andy

I have ran without a steering stabilizer and sway bar for a 5 hour drive back home from wheeling without any issues. Once I got home I fixed the sway bar and drove for about a month before getting another one without handling difficulties.

ran without a stablizer for almost a year, and prefered the feel. However, in PA, to pass the annual inspection i needed to replace the stablizer. No sense taking it off just to put on again to pass inspection

Sure you can run without them and may not feel a difference on the smooth road, but they are there for a reason. They are intended to not only smooth out minor road and trail steering bumping but will definitely help with the larger side to side bumping you might get. Some can even cause you to lose control, something that will happen less often with it connected. Try not to get to use to not having it as it can become a hazard in the long run. Also if you have bigger tires it is almost a must or at least a must recommend.

Yes I did, now I have the woods kit. If your castor is right, your axles centered, nothing is broken or bad, and everything is torqued to spec there is no reason why you can't run it without a stabilizer.

..and your tires are perfectly balanced. In which if you wheel here on the rocks, they nearly never stay balanced.

Yeah I wheel in rocks and my tires are chunked up pretty good, and no they are not balance. Yes you can still drive without a stabilizer. Done it before and im sure I will do it again.
