To run 35" tires do you need new driveshafts?
I plan on getting a 4 door auto rubicon in the next couple months and would like to eventually run 35" tires. I know this will require a 2.5-4" lift or so?
Do you know if you have to replace the driveshafts to run 35's? Is anyone currently running 35's without replacing the driveshafts?
Also, what do you think is the best lift to still maintain a comfortable street/highway ride?

With an Auto, you will probably have to replace at least your front driveshaft. After about 2.5" the front shaft starts to hit the tranny pan at full flex.
Check out the FAQ section, it should answer most of your questions.

Lab that's a sweet looking rig you got there.
I would do as stated already do the BB lift and if your not doing any crazy crawling you should not have any problems
People have been running stock shafts with 35s for a year all depends on what type of wheeling you do

Remember, the tire size will not change the driveline angle, so evaluate the need for a new driveshaft on the lift you want.
Automatics have more issues than do the 6 speeds, so search around, there are lots of threads on this.
Again, don't worry about tire size, only the lift.

The rear drive shaft won't have quite the angle as if you had a 2 door. You might be ok. My 2 door with a 3" lift and 35s didn't take too long. Just a long trip, hadn't even had the chance to wheel with it when it happened.

I have a 4-door rubi with 35's and 4" Teraflex lift with stock DS's. I've been hill climbing, mud slinging and rock crawling and have had no problems. Oh have an auto...
