Rugged Ridge XHD Front Bumper
Attachment 114990Attachment 114991
Newb here...
Quick run down. Just got my 1st Jeep and am low in funds right now for any dream mods. My front bumper was recently dinged, therefore giving me somewhat of an excuse for my first mod.
Basically, I want to replace the front with the above mentioned style bumper. The only drawback is that my jeep is bone stock and i'm looking to gather some opinions on the look of an aftermarket bumber on stock, no lift, org 17" rims/whls..
I've attached an attemp at a before/after photoshop....your opinion is appreciated.

Adding a good aftermarket bumper is not dependent upon other mods. The only negative impact is that if you add a very heavy bumper, it could cause some sag in the springs and cause your Jeep to be nose heavy. That can be corrected cheaply with some coil spacers, or more expensively (and better) with some stouter springs.
You will find that you can do mods one by one in most cases and get by, but each mod you do will lead you to want another to make it "better"...
There is a reason why we say Jeep stands for "Just Empty Every Pocket".
Good luck!

Bumper
Good job on the photoshop. At first I was wondering why you needed an opinion if the bumper was already on.
The only thing I do not like about the XHD is the hoop looks too small to me when seen in person (Im sure I just pissed off a bunch of folks, sorry).
Another stubby bumper that has a good look is the EVO.

Here's my XHD .... Just do it.... Every time you add a mod the jeep looks better... And it's hard to stop adding.... Throw some wider beefier tires on.., new rims or paint your rims black and the jeep will look totally different(wider tires) ..... As one person wrote on this forum.... Adding mod's to your Jeep is more addictive then Heroin!!!!

more confusion
I had been having the same issue... which bumper? Do I need to keep my factory lights? What about a winch later? Do I need one with extra off-road lights?
I have done a lot of research and this is a great all around bumper with a bunch of changable options and the weight should not affect the front end.

It's not extremely heavy. I have it with the end caps and hoop. It will not drop the front until you put in a winch. When I had my bumper installed without the Winch. The front didn't drop at all. It did droped about 3/4" after I installed the winch.
