Default Rugged Ridge wheels and back spacing

I was looking to run the RR wheels which I think have 5" back spacing. Can I run a 285/70/17 and not have wheel spacers? I think the tires are 11.2" wide and 32.8" tall.

I run my 35's without any spacers and don't have any rubbing issues.

I think the RR 17x9 wheels have 4.75" (-12mm offset) back spacing.

They are nice hub centric wheels and should work well up to 35x12.5x17 tires.

so... is is safe to assume that 33x12.5x17 tires on 17x9 wheels with 4.75" backspacing will work on a stock (non-lifted) jku?

i am trying to keep all of this info straight.

I thought you where talking "Wheel Spacers" (not spring/lift spacers) which are not needed.

I would not think you would have any problems with that setup w/o a lift.

Maybe someone with the same setup will chime in.

You should have no issues at all, might need to do minor trimming on your front plastic air dam(fake skid plate) and rear pinch seam at full lock/flex.

There's a guy running RR wheels with 35/12.5's with just a 3/4" coil spacer up front and I believe he cut the rear pinch seam... No issues with back spacing.

I have RR with a 3" lift, fit great with stock flares, no trimming, if I had to do it again, I would've just done a tereflex leveling kit and fenders...

Great info!

I'm wondering if the stock Rubicon BFG's will fit on RR 17x9 rims? BFG says max wheel width is 8.5" but would 1/2 an inch make a difference?

I know for a fact they do, I ran them for months without issue until I moved to a bigger tire.
