Thanks for all the info. I honestly thought it would be a real quick mod. The combination of it only being 5 degree's outside and trying to quit smoking got me pretty fairly quick. I'll put this advice to use in the morning. Thanks again

The rubber mallet with the longer screw worked great. The passenger mirror was useless until I went to harbor freight and got some circular blind spot mirrors and stuck them on. Now it works great. Honestly I really didn't care just wanted to get them off my doors.
