Default Rubicon stock suspension on X???

I was wondering if there would be any benefit to putting a Rubicon suspension on my 09 X. I have seen many on sale and was wondering. Thanks

Nope.

You would get a slightly heavier spring, and a slightly better shock. I have heard you may get 3/4 of an inch of lift if your lucky. Most Rubi owners change the shocks anyway.

All other components are identical, except for the front sway bar.

I installed a set of Rubi shocks on my X. While they aren't premium aftermarket shocks, they are still 10x better than the stock X POS shocks. I didn't bother with the springs. I figured it wasn't worth the effort for such a minimal potential lift. I'm happy for the time being (until I have enough money saved for a complete spring lift and aftermarket shocks).

I think its worth doing the shocks if you can get them for dirt CHEAP. I payed $50 for the set of 4 Rubi shocks, and they only had around 7k miles on them. The result was a much more planted feel on the road with less bump steer, and better traction on bumpy pavement.

Rubi springs and X springs are identical. There are several threads on this.

The springs used on the assembly line have more to do with 2dr vs. 4dr or towing package or hardtop option.

I installed JKU springs from a 4-door with factory hardtop and tow package (the heaviest JK made). I easily got 2 inches of lift on my 2-door.

Sure it will. You can run 35s with no lift at all.

Now, dosconnect your sawy bar and get into some big rocks, turn the wheels, and stuff one against the bump stop. Hope your fender flare doesn't rip off. It will sound like it. Might just do it too.

That is my experience.

Nice highjack by the way...
