Rubicon Express 2.5 rear bottoming out??
Hi guys, recently I bought 2007 Jeep Rubicon (2 Door). I just installed a RE 2.5 standard coil system with mono tubes and springs and 35 inch tires. The issues that im having is the rear axle seems to bottom out over every bump on the road. This makes the ride really rough and jarring <!--td {border: 1px solid #ccc;}br {mso-data-placement:same-cell;}-->https://speedtest.vet/ https://vidmate.bid/ https://wordtopdf.ltd/ when the rear axle goes over any bump at speed or even a speed bump at low speed i can hear it hitting throughout the entire frame. Now im thinking of totally eliminating the rear bump-stop extension that came with the lift, so it stops bottoming out. However something just doesn't feel right. Why would the extension come with the kit if it is not needed?

I can't find it off hand but there was a thread on this within the last 30 days. Two owners having the exact same issue. What additional weight do you have (if any)? The bumpstops are there to protect the shocks from bottoming out so you need to measure where they are, what the fully compressed length on them is, and use those numbers to see how much bumpstop you need. You should consider the foam factory bumpstops as going completely flat and ensure that you've got a good 1/4-1/2" of space leftover before the shock is completely bottoming out. If the shock bottoms out then you'll blow them. If you continue riding that way then eventually you'll tear the brackets from the jeep. The bumpstops serve a purpose, but measuring is key and the manufacturers don't do it, they work off of generic numbers.

The thread Karl noted above highlighted the rear bumpstops are to be installed in a single direction. If you install them the opposite direction you run into this issue. I'd flip the rear bumps around (rotate them 180*) and see if that fixes your issue. I'll see if I can dig up that thread.
