Default Rubicon Dana 44 front build & Swap

I have a 2013 sport with the baby dana 30 open diff. I really need a front locker after having to be winched too many times. I would love to go the Teraflex or the Dynatrac route but funds are not available for that. I thought of just putting a locker in my dana 30 but then while I had it apart i would like to do sleeves and gussets. The 30 have stood up strong so far, I've done lots of trails in moab and haven't broken it yet. But why spend 1500 on the 30 when I think I can piece together a 44 for the same cost. Here is what I am thinking. Used rubicon 44 housing $700-900, Used rubicon gears $80, Used axles $150, C gussets $65, Sleeves $85, Ball joints $200, Master install kit $150, so the last thing is a locker, I'm looking for a used rubicon electric because I have been told that you can find used take outs for 400-600. For the rest of the parts I an going to cannibalize my dana 30 for the steering components. So Im thinking I can build a strong 44 for around 2100 to 2200. Does anyone have any advice or tips to get me moving along, Also are my used prices look correct, Last does anyone have a takeout locker they need to get rid of?

You are doing all of the welding and gear setup yourself? You can buy a new front rubi housing for just over 900, so for a used one, I'd shoot for the sub-600 range. Maybe you'll get lucky and find one that is already built for a decent price. Haven't seen many front rubi lockers floating around. If you find one for a low price, great. If not, you're looking at a grand-plus for an ox (depending on actuation), or 1400ish for a new factory elocker, or two grand for an arb. I think you might be better off locating a locker before starting to collect the rest of the parts.

Yes doing the welding and install myself, Do you know the part number for the bare housing? The only part number I can find is 68017174AD and I think this is the housing the price is 1400. I found this part number 68017169AD it says its a heavy duty housing (Dana 44) with 4.10 and tru-lock, so i think this comes with everything but the axles and steering for 2600?
