Default Rubi springs and shocks on X

First time poster. I have been here for a few weeks and have learned alot.
my 08 unlimited X 6sp tow package has been at kz status for a week. I already have my wheels and tires waiting at home. I want to upgrade the original shocks.. i found a set of new rubicon shocks and springs to buy. I know they are better shocks, what would the rubi springs do for the jeep are they taller and maybe a liitle stronger. Thnks.

What size tires/wheels did you get? Do you plan on lifting the Jeep?

I guess the question I would ask then, is why you want to upgrade the shocks/springs? If you want to retain original ride height, what are you looking for? A softer ride? A higher spring rate? Let us know what you are trying to accomplish with new shocks/springs and we can hopefully steer you in the right direction. The rubicon shocks and springs are heavier duty, but may not be the right way to go, depending on what you want, and what the cost is.

I just grabbed some Rubi shocks from Puddlz, who generously offered them and I quickly obliged to takin them for free!

I hear that they ride a little higher and the coils are a littler stiffer.

I havent put them on because I dont know how ><.

Wondering If i should get it done or how much it will cost.

I figured the heavy duty shocks would be better for towing. I have a 13ft travel trailer about 2700 pounds.

Talking new shocks

I have the Rubi shocks on my X and they are so much better. They bolt right on no problem, three bolts per shock on the rear and two bolts for the front two... No Prob, all you need is a socket wrench with a ten inch extender bit... I think you also need a 17mm and an 18mm but it may be a 16mm instead of the 17.... It took me 45 min by myself because I just had to find out what to do... very easy, would have done a write up but no camera that day. you can do it yourself, trust me....

Can't tell you anything about the springs though..... The new shock are a huge different though. I love 'em...

Default Rubi shocks/coils

I think that I can answer this one.....since I was thinking the same thing. I picked up some Rubi Shocks and coils for close to free, but I only swapped the front coils and shocks. The numbers on the coils and shocks are different from the ones on my X, but side by side they are virtually the same. The spring rates may be a little different, but it's not really noticeable. Ride height is unchanged on my 2-door X.

Default nope

I have a Body Armor triple hoop bumper and a Warn M8000 on mine and was hoping that the Rubi coils would help the sag, but they didn't.

What I'm saying is that the front height of the Jeep is unchanged after swapping out the coils. I found that there is no difference in ride height between the X coils and the Rubis. Yes, the winch/bumper combo does cause about a half inch of drop. Personally I like the Jeep to sit level or a little nose high. Just my preference. I may have to try something else like aftermarket coils, another spacer or smaller rear spacers. I already have a Teraflex 2.5 BB.
