Are Rubi shocks any better than the Sahara shocks ?

They are different.....Better? depends on what you are looking for. If you are a mall crawler, don't bother. If you want better control off road, yes. A third option is Monroe reflex monotubes. They have better control off road than the rubi shocks when needed, but provide a smoother on road ride. Best of both worlds. I have used all 3, and you know which ones I am running.

They may not be different if your Sahara shocks are red. They "red" Rubicon shocks are valved differently that the stock "black" shocks. If you get the Rubi shocks for cheap and they are newish with only a few hundred miles then they might be a bargain upgrade. If you are lifted already, or if the Rubi shocks are well used then a set of Rancho 5000s for less than $200.00 is a much better deal.

I have never been a fan of the 5000s. Every vehicle I had with them on it, did terrible in studder bumps and were stiff. I am guessing the 9000s are nice. Never used them. But I took off 5000s from my F150 and put on another shock and over fast studders the new shocks (Monroe reflex), handle much better with no fish tailing etc....Just more control.

I would be cautious of used Rubi shocks unless they are free. My stock Rubi shocks were worn completely, and I mean COMPLETELY, before I hit the 30,000 mile mark. When I took them off they could be compressed with one finger, and any amount of compression whether half way in or just a few inches would stick, and it would take upwards of 5 minutes for them to push themselves back out. All 4 of them were like that with just slightly less than 30,000 miles.
Super unimpressed.

I made the switch a while ago. Got a barely used set for under $100. On the pavement they were slightly stiffer than the black Sahara shocks. Offroad they are great. Figured I couldn't go wrong for $100 and have no regrets

Thank you all for the replies.
I'm only mall crawling and beach driving on my little 33's so don't need much.
I'm going to purchase some 19/60 springs off Craigslist and most people include the shocks. I guess for all eight pieces at a cost of $150 I can't go wrong.
How do you read the stickers on the springs? I'm seeing the decals but not sure where the 19 or 60 should be ?

$150 is a little steep. The "19" and "60" will be the last two digits on the coil.
