Default RR Snorkel or Ace Rails?

I can probably convince the wife to get one, but probably not both. The RR Snorkel looks awesome, but I'm not sure I'd use it as much. The Ace Rails I'd probably use every time I get in and out of the Jeep. So which one or save for something else? Maybe a duel battery setup.

being that you're in colorado, rocker guards are what you need.

The voice of reason

Well the factory Rubi rails don't leave me totally unprotected. If I didn't have those, then it would be a no brainer. I'm still leaning this direction because the BB has the wife and kids having a harder time climbing in and out.

I too struggled with the rocker rails as I have a Ruby with stock rails as well. I couldnt see the logic in adding something lower than what the factory had on there to begin with (Ace Rails), that basically did the same thing minus the step. What i ended up with was the Poison Spyder DIY Rico Rails. They look awesome, are tough as hell, and added the step the family wanted without losing clearance below and looking rather goofy (IMO).

Definitely the rails, for you the majority of the snorkel will be for looks but the rails will aid your offroad experience

Those look awesome, but I can't weld.

Neither can I, or at least that well. I kinda lucked out with those and bought them pre welded from Poison Spyder. They used to weld them but no longer do that i believe. But you could just as easily take them to a welder with a case of beer and some bucks and have it done for you...

Rocker protection first, snorkel later.
