It's funny. You'd think if that were true, then there would be multiple threads on here saying the same. However, if you look at the death wobble threads, the bad ride threads, or anything but the underpowered engine threads, you'll notice that there isn't any one lift that is better or worse.
Maybe the shop didn't know what they were doing, because this is the first lift I've ever put on, don't have a ride problem, and haven't had any difficulties. Companies are in business to sell what makes them money. They aren't in it to make a bad name for themselves.

I didn't add an adjustable front track until about 6 months after i put the rc 4" lift on. i am still on factory control arms but upgrading to adjustable soon. i have 33's on my 2dr and they dont look bad. 35's would with out a doubt be better but just living within my budget now 35's will be soon though. i have had no prob with the lift. also when i added my adjustable front trackbar i left the bracket on is that ok? i know rc is an inexpensive lift but i dont consider it a cheap lift. i am very happy with mine and i am also not embarassed running 33's with it until i get 35's. i also have not had a rear driveshaft issue yet but im sure i will and a new rear driveshaft is on my list.

I agree with the Dr. What's the difference between all the coil lifts floating around. They're coils! Made pretty much the same as the next. How can someone say one brand is so much better than the next. The meat of each kit is basically the coils and shocks (2.5" kits for the most part). I have the RC 2.5" coils and I've had no problems. It sounds like evryone's brainwashed by the norm on this site (ie. teraflex). I could be totally wrong but has anyone had a RC coil break in half. What makes them less than the rest? Mine rides just fine. Although I'm not looking for a ride that massages potholes. It's a Jeep! Is it the low price that turns people away

If you have an adj. front track bar you need to ditch that drop down bracket. It's useless and in my opinion will eventually cause more probs than it's worth. Take it off and set the track bar to the correct length.

Funny thing is a lot of people that don't have the RC lift think its not a good product and are always putting a negative opinion on a product they are not familiar with. Listen to guys that have RC lifts on their Jeep and you will get very few negative things said about the company and it's product. Here is a RC owners opinion on their 4" lift - Good solid well made parts, Shocks are top notch, Great company with excellent customer support, The 4" kit is complete,
If installed correctly the ride is great for a lifted Jeep ( no death wobble and tracks perfectly straight), Good flex and a great price.

If you want Rough Country, get Rough Country. I have it and have no complaints. Don't do the cam bolt thing if you can afford to get adjustable control arms for the front lowers. Hey, coil springs are coil springs. Their shocks are decent, at least I like the ride. I did go ahead and get extended brake lines as this thing flexes great with the Curries on there.

Default More of the same

Oddly enough I had a similar experience with my local shop here saying Rough Country lifts are garbage, but when I pressed him further on the issue he seemed to know nothing about their products and priced their 2.5" lift at $350. It is $329 on the RC website. I think many of these shops just sell what makes them more money. I read all threads and could't find anything bad. I ordered the 2.5" kit with shocks and plan on installing it myself.

I had the RC 4" lift for my 04 TJ before I traded it in for my JK. I had a bad experience with the shop that installed it when I was stationed in TX. The problem wasn't with the kit but the shop. Matter of fact, Rough Country sent some additional pieces to me afterwards in addition to the kit for free. They are definitly customer service oriented. They were understanding and helped out.

Gteat info here guys...Thread saved favorite links!

Im also planning on a 4" and all of my questions were answered with info and great pics.
My JK officially came home from the dealership tonight.......
where can i get the adj. track bar and the currie arms?
I think im going to buy these items first and the lift last cause if i dont then i know me and i will throw the lift on and wait a very long time to buy the other stuff.

Any other items that you guys think that i will need? (I.e. longer brake lines?)

Thanks!

the adjustable trackbars and adjustable arms you can buy a lot of different places i would check vendors from this forum especially northridge. like i said earlier though i went without my adjustable front trackbar for 6 months and have just ordered adjustable control arms. im not saying you should wait on them but in my case i did and no harm done. the only thing im worried about is my rear driveshaft. no trouble yet but from what i read it is a time bomb for me with my 2 door. again im not saying to wait on the adjustable arms and trackbar but i think you would be fine getting away without it for awhile.
