Default Rough Country 2.5" lift and stock heavy duty gas shocks..

Since my X comes with the heavy duty gas shocks already, is there any point in getting the Rough Country Performance 2.2 shocks with the lift kit?

It's $139 without the shocks and $300 with.

Think the heavy duty gas shocks would suffice so I can get just the kit?

Pretty impressive looking by the way

If you don't mind having shock extensions you won't need them.....I ordered my RC 2.5 BB before they offered the shocks, so I called RC and ordered the shocks too, they should be here by Friday. I figured $160 why not try them, I don't really care for the shock extensions, seems like they could bend easily.....Just kinda completes the whole package.

Default 2.2's

I had the 2.5bb with stock HD gas shocks at first then installed the 2.2's they made a noticeable difference in the ride. a little less stiff but no extra body roll. I have since installed the the RE Monotubes and honestly cant tell the difference between them and the 2.2's. I would spend the money if I were you. they are MUCH better than the old rough country shocks. just my 2Cents

Well if you plan on wheeling the JK I would upgrade the shocks....the gas filled foam filled cylinder will out perform the stock shocks hands down. Plus the built in bump stop is a great addition to our 2.5" kit.
