Rotopax Spare Tire Mounting System: Who has them?
Now that winter is coming to an end and the Arizona summers are not too far away, I have been planning on doing some Jeep trips this summer to places like Montana and South Dakota. Due to the long journey, I am planning on getting some fuel and water storage for the long distances between fuel stations and water for my camping needs. I have wanted Jerry cans but cannot find an easy way to mount them and I only need the fuel and water storage for trips, not everyday use. With this in mind I have turned to the Rotopax system that straps onto the spare tire. Does anyone have this system? If so, how do you like it? I saw one member sell the strap system and some containers but I unfortunately missed the opportunity. I would like to get a good review prior to buying them. i haven't needed fuel on a trail yet, but don't want to be in that situation. Like I said, this will only be for weekend trail rides and long trips a few times a year which is why I am not looking into replacing my tire carrier or getting a roof rack.

i asked about this as well as it seemed like a good option.
i didnt get much feedback. it seems like its not a popular option.
however, the feedback i did get was that it was pretty sturdy and the couple of guys that chimed in said they didnt have any issues with it.

Won't that add a bunch of weight to the stock tire carrier? Gas is about 6.6lbs/gallon and water is about 8lbs/gallon. If the weight of a 35" wheel/tire combo is an issue this is going to be worse.

I agree, on a stock carrier it'd be way too much. However, I have a Mopar carrier with a 35" spare and it shoows no signs of having issues with the weight since I installed it.
