Default Roof Rack and Hard Top

I'm looking to find a Roof Rack that I can put on my 4-door, and still be able to remove and re-install the hard top with relative ease. Any suggestions?

I think there's 1 that unhinges and folds back, other option is Yakima tracks with Thule load bars and feet, then get the Thule basket for it....

I have the Garvin Wilderness rack. I've not yet been able to try it because the top is too bulky and awkward to take off by myself, but I hear that the hard top can be taken off by removing two bolts up front and pivoting it at the rear mounts.

I hate to be super critical here, but here's my dilemma. I want to be 100% modular, so I can have a roof rack with or without the hard top. I don't have a garage because I currently live in rental for pre-med, and when I go back into the Army after finishing med school, I will not be guaranteed a garage afterwards. To make that worse, I'll be moving every three years while I'm back in, so that'll be wonderfully fun. Usually they just offer outdoor parking.

Yakima looks like they only mount to the roof, correct me if I'm wrong.

Garvin looks good, might take a little dexterity because I too will have to lift it solo.

AEV looks like another "only mounts to the hard top."

Gobi looks pretty sweet, checked out an 18 minute vid on youtube with a guy working with it. He has a killer garage. I'd like it, but there's the problem of unhinging the rack to get the hard top off. Sweet rack!

I'm currently looking at the Warrior Products Safari. Once again, I run into the problem of dexterity in removal.

This is going to be a challenge, but once I figure it out well worth the effort. Thanks for your input.

I wish you lived a bit closer... I am selling mine. I have the Wild Boar Roof Rack. Pretty sweet Rack. Can be used with both hard and soft top. It is easy to remove the hard top as long as you have a second body. I bought it cause it was easier to use than the gobi rack.

I believe if you remove the back ladder the hard top slides out the back. This rack is currently my top choice. I have a lot of hours invested in research on the subject.

I traded my soft top for a hardtop while the Gobi rack was installed. I removed the ladder in advance. The top slid on from the rear over the spare with the glass raised. There is only about 1-2" to spare because of the alignment pin on the hardtop. I did have to remove my ax/shovel mount brackets since they extend below the floor of the rack.
