Roof Rack
#21
Anyone purchased one of the Garvin Wilderness racks? This is a trail rack but doesn't it seem to mount off the frame just above the bumper?

I'm reviving this thread to see if anybody has
mounted a full roof rack, especially the off-road logic
version.
I received an email response from them.
The aluminum rack costs more(forgot prices)
and weighs 55 lbs or so vs. over 100lbs for the
steel version.
Would an aluminum rack be strong enough?
I'm thinking of a platform pop up tent(which
they refer to). Would steel be the better choice
with several hundred lbs. up top?

I really liked that one that was shown in the sema show, that tilted back.. Also waiting to hear more from the guy in Calif, who is starting to make them.. (around $800.00).. and then theres, the one that flips over backwards and makes a canopy frame.. That was cool.. So still looking at all of them to get the best one for the money..!!

$1899 is too damn ridiculous to pay for a fricken rack. Damn thing must be made from solid gold. I will be building my own rack as well... I bought a Kargo Master 52x60 basket, and will building the cage myself. I am inspired by offroad logic as far as the rear mounts they are using... i'll go the same route.

So has any one picked on up yet? I am really looking at the garvin. So far I like it's looks the best and is $760.99 through quadratc and an extra 79.99 for the yakima bar adapters which I already have kayak and snowboard mounts for so it is also one of the cheapest ones out yet for the jk. With the price of steel now I don't see anyone even making these for under $450.00 so I don't think its all that bad.

i just dont like the idea of the rear mounting...
I realy need a rack ,,but without a basket.
for my eezi awn roof tent and lights, but looks like I gonna have to build one,,or modify a 2006 unlimited congo cage
