That is an awsome install!!!!
Do you have any pictures of the back of the switch and a part number for that switch? You should do a write up on this.

Rubi Locker mod.. these switches control my factory lockers when not in 4lo

I chose this location for ease of installation and the availibility of a grounded bolt

I don't have pics, but with the main panel out it is 4 phillips screws to get the switch panel out. From there you can snap/pry open the panel and pull the circuit board out then there is a rubber piece to pull out. Then you can snap out any unused "blank"switch locations. I found radio shack has the best assortment of switches, I have two that looked "factory" to me, they have to be small enough though. Drill a hole in the "blank" for the new switch (I pre soldered on wiring to the new switch so I can splice on what ever I want later with out taking it all apart). Use a razor blade to cut out any stuff in the way and to cut a slot for the wiring to come out so the circuit board fits, unless you think you can find a safe place to drill it. And I hot glued the "blank" with the new switch on to the main switch panel. Snap it all back together you done.

This was my prototype for the design I wanted. I'll probably end up re-doing it though.

That needs to go into commercial production. The $400+ solution
that some vendor is offering is ludicrous with switches hard-wired for
functions we may not even want (certainly I could give a rat's ass if my
winch has a remote instead of dash mounted switches). And, that has
room for a gauge--an oil pressure gauge that we need so badly.

Default hot switches

Sorry to hijack the thread, but I just put in ARB lockers and the switches are tapped into the lights. Is it normal for the switch to get very warm (hot) to the touch when the lights are on.

For those who have the type of switch with two bulbs in them (one for when the lights are on and the other when activated), can you let me know if your switches also run hot when the lights are on?

Thanks. Won't burn your fingers or anything, but I don't want to burn out the switches either.

I put my switch for the ARB compressor in the center console.

And yes the switch does get warm from the light.

Thanks for the quick reply. Just wanted to make sure I didn't do something "wrong" to fry the switches.

Just saw this thread.... I did switches above the mirror (writeup here, though technically I guess these are toggles, not rockers):

.... and I just completed a custom panel with six rockers and a hard-mounted inverter in the center console this week (no writeup yet):
