Rock sliders choice
I want to buy new rock sliders for my 2010 Rubicon 4 drs, I know that there are a lot of threads on this subject already and I have been reading most of them. I came to the following conclusions and need some last minute help to place the order hopefully next Monday :
The rails should be Frame mounting only, without any body attachments
Need some sort of step to help wife getting in the car
Budget is not really an issue since I have been saving for this project
After all the reading I think I will chose beteween these models:
EVO (love them but the they do not offer much of a step, 1 month to receive them)
LOD
Shrockworks (it will take more than 2 months to get them)
Ace
Please let me know your thoughts

The ACE rails use the body mount bolts for attachment, I believe, and thus are connected to the body and not the frame.
If you want a frame mounted slider with a step for little folks you really would be hard pressed to find anything better than the LoD setup.
Contact Dave at Northridge 4x4 to find out what the current lead time is.

My top two were LoD and Evo. Went with the LoD because it also works as a step. However, I don't know if this was because mine is a 2-door and they were just coming out with the 2-door version, but mine took a month to arrive too.
I ended up welding mine to the frame rails as well. Solid as a rock!

Went with ORE rock sliders. Had ORE weld them an extra half
inch outward from body, about 1 1/2 total. Reason was so I
would have more of a step, works as planned, very pleased.
Had Body Armor rock sliders for a couple of years, but they
are attached to body so after two years they angled upward
after so much banging. But liked them. Also, got the Rock
Hard Sport Cage because the grip handles are perfect to grab
to get in the JK.

well, you're in luck as i have run all 3 and really, all do the job of protecting your jeep great. of the 3, the LoD works best as a step - there really is no two ways about this. next up would be the EVO sliders especially if you have them custom ordered with less of an angle. the member strainger did this and they work great as a step.

I have an 09 JKU and just got my ACE rails. I RELLY like them. They are frame mounted. Easy to put on and pretty stout! I have kids and short friends. These are a great step and you dont lose ground clearance. Plus with the price and life time warranty I couldn't pass them up. I put a set of rubi rails with them and it's a nice clean look. I had RR tube steps prior and I dont notice much of a change in step height or width. I can post pics later.

ACE makes a great slider, that is what I run. THe LOD and EVO are stronger in that they could be used as a jack point or a place to pull your rig back over after a flop. With the ACE, that is not going to happen. They are strictly sliders and steps.
