Default Rock Slider Questions

I'm trying to help a friend get some sliders for her jk. Personally, I went with Shrockworks, and love them, however they tend to take on the order of 2+ months to get them to you.. Which is something she's not willing to wait for.

Unfortunately, beyond Shrockworks, I'm not really familiar with what sliders are quality, and those that aren't.. A friend of hers suggested ACE, but I'm not sure the mounting they use is nearly strong enough to handle crawling. Where we ride, she needs them to be able to handle the weight of the Jeep for pivoting, protection, etc...

So my question is... What would ya'll recommend?

I know what I can recommend to NOT get. Smittybilt sliders are great steps, but if she is using her Jeep like you stated, she'll need better ones as they cannot handle the stresses of pivoting and knocking.

I have heard Poison Spyder's are great.

I recommend the ACE weld on sliders, that's what I run and wouldn't run anything but weld on. I know EVO makes some weld on sliders as well and that would be my second choice.

I run LOD (though I can't remember how long it took to get them). Mine are welded on and have stood up to actually sliding the behemoth of a JKU on the rocks without troubles.

X2 on LOD. Mine are not welded as they are technically bolt on. A lot of people end up welding them on because there is a lot of drilling and tapping of holes into the frame. That's what I love about them, frame mounted rather than body. Add in the side step which is actually usable and they are, imo, the best looking and one of the strongest sliders out there. I waitied 6 weeks for mine so that is the only negative (still way shorter than Shrocks)

EVO has weld on sliders that are frame mounted and are as strong (definitley stronger than LOD's that are bolted on) as LOD's that are welded on. They make several configurations for those looking to use it as a step. Pretty sure wait time is way less than LOD but I am not positive.

I have really liked my PSC Rocker Knockers: Strong, low profile, do not decrease ground clearence, good looking, strong

I have the LOD sliders and love them. Quality is top notch. And while they haven't really been tested to hard, I'm confident they'll hold up to any punishment I'll dish out.

from experience do not buy anything that is mounted to the body. I would recommend anything that is a strong weld on to the frame slider

I love my Shrockworks and I was willing to wait the 6 weeks it took. You can’t go wrong with the Poison Spyders or LOD. But LOD’s are on a ton of jeeps out there so you won’t be too original. Both can take a pounding.
