Default Rock Rails vs. Side Steps

Wanting some opinions on going with Rock Rails or side steps. I mostly play in mud. Not much in the line of rocks to climb around here. Not sure I like the looks of the side steps, and I do like the functionality of the rails. What are your thoughts?

Here's something to think about.... My stock sahara side steps got smashed up by getting high centered over a hill. Not only that but when they got smashed the mounts twisted and did some body damage. Rocks aren't the only things that will kill side steps. I'd suggest getting some rocker armor that has a step built in and you'll be killing two birds with one stone.

x2 for one that does both.

My current favorites are the Poison Spyder Brawler Rockers...drilling into the tub still makes me nervous, but I'll probably just go for it.

I had the same thought "after" I purchased and installed the stock steps. I think the stock steps look good but I'm with you, you may need more protection. Better to have it and not use than to need it and not have it. I think if I had to do it over again I would go with a dual purpose set. Good luck

Just installed the LOD sliders on my Jeep last night. They have a step as well and are very solid.
