I have the Ace. I have come down on them HARD to where I've bounced a few times and haven't done any damage to anything.

That said, the main reason I'm not completely happy with them is where they mount, below the Rubi rails. Mounting at that point, you lose some ground clearance which means I'm ALWAYS on my rails. This would be fine for mild to moderate wheeling. During daily driving, I do like using them as a step.

If you're planning on wheeling hard stuff, I'd get the LOD. I wheeled with a guy that has them and he does lots of hard stuff, says they're great. They also have a built in step.

Do the Evo rails have a step?

Check out the White Knuckle Offroad sliders. They are frame mounted and are extremely sturdy. Not to mention they're price is good an customer service is excellent.
