Rock Krawler vs. Teraflex

Here is a pic of my buddy's rear driveshaft pinion angle. Even with the 2.5" Max travel kit, it's a 2 door with stock bumpers. It sits super high. At least 4" which means 2 doors need to think about aftermarket driveshafts. If he throws on some heavy bumpers, it will compress the coils s bit. But for now, his rear driveshaft is making clicking sounds so he either needs to replace it soon or invest in upper adjustable control arms to get the pinion back to zero

I have Rock Krawler stock mod on a 2dr w/o a winch and with the stock bumper and have brutal bump steer issues. Got a little over 4"s of lift in front which I wasn't quite ready for. Considering a different set of front springs to lessen the amount of lift I have. Not really a manufactures issue, just didn't realize it would be this drastic. Just an FYI.

Honestly, what I'm hearing and seeing with the RK 2.5" lift for 2 doors is the same thing people saw with TF a few years ago. That's why TF now makes specific 2 door and 4 door versions.

You guys are making me cry!!! Damn, I thought I had a plan! Ha ha. Are the folks with the weight of bumpers, winches, and heavy armor having the same issues with the beasty RK 2.5 inch lift coils?

teraflex doesn't really make 2/4 door specific coils. the 2.5" 4door coils are the same exact part number as the 3" 2door coils. the 3" 4door coils are the same coil as the 2door 4" coil. they use them interchangeably depending on the lift height.
i think it is pretty obvious that u are gonna need at least a front shaft with the rk max travel kit if u have a 2012+. they are using long shocks to allow it to droop so much. if u are seeing 4" on a 2door then u will need to do a rear shaft as well. i rec doing the f/r shafts either way.

Is there a Rock Krawler rep on this forum? I love the flex that the Max travel kit gets but want a smaller lift specifically to avoid the expense of driveshaft replacement . My pockets are not as deep as my desire so for now I am staying low. I truly hope RK will make a 2 door version of this lift. The moral of the story? Please don't bust me in my shaft!

TeraFlex 2.5" kits lift the front 3.1" and 2.1" in the rear on a stock JK. If you have a 2dr and want some extra height (1/2"-3/4") order the 4dr version.

Thanks for the info, I appreciate it. I have no aftermarket bumpers but will the kit sag with added weight in the future? Can I run the 4 dr springs without driveline issues if i were to get bumpers first?
