I welded the tie rod ends to the tie rod. However, I am purchasing a new RK tie rod. I come to find out the the Evo Link Locks do not work on tie rods, only control arms.

Anyone know of a locking mechanism for tie rods (other than loctite)?

What's wrong with just using loctite?

Default Educated

I would like to thank the OP for posting this. My JK is my first off road vehicle. I plan on lifting it in the future, but I had no idea this is a component that needs to be checked on a regular basis.

Call them and have them replace it. Also what were you doing to just rip it out of the threads

Do what you said, and add the indicator mark on the nut so this can be checked visually.

I had perm red loctite on there -- it came loose. I need extra locking power.

In previous posts, I touched on this subject. They won't just replace it. I need to buy another one because, as they state, 'it happens here and there'. I was pulling out of my driveway and the ends came right out. I am lucky I wasn't on a highway.

Good idea, but now that this has happened to me with checking it every 6 months or so, I need to be certain that this will not happen again.
