Thumbs down Rock Krawler "Heavy Duty" Tie Rod - FAIL!!!

To me this is crazy!!

I have a Rock Krawler "heavy duty" tie rod on my 2007 4dr JK which was installed 1-2 years ago.
The passenger tie rod end came out of the tie rod. It did not unscrew, just came out. Take a look at the video.
I spoke with Jeremy from Rock Krawler, which said that this happens here-and-there but would not give me a replacement, but I could buy one for a discounted cost.

Anyone else ever hear of this? Doesn't sound too safe.

I just welded the ends onto the rod.

This is unacceptable I purchased a rock krawler lift as it is suppose to have a life time abuse proof warrentee. What happened to that, how can they advertise this and not make good on their advertised warranty???

If you welded it now you have no adjustment.

At least it is perfectly aligned. The only way it should get out of alignment is if the rod bends. The actual rod is very beefy, which is why I bought it.

Was it the tie rod or the tie rod end that failed? Tie rod is covered TRE is not. The video kinda looks like the threads on the TRE stripped. This could happen if the jam nut is not properly tightened.

If the TRE is the issue check with the TRE manufacturer for replacement.

yea looks as if the jam nut may have been loose for an extended period of time and stripped the threads.

You really need to check jam nuts periodically. They can loosen up. I would mark them when fully torqued; that way if they loosen up, you can visually check it as you casually walk around the Jeep. That yellow marker stands out!

Yeah I agree the threads look completely stripped on the TRE. The RK tie rod looks like it still has good threads.
