Rock krawler 3.5 X Factor lift
#11
RK x-factor (New flex Bushings). The rear arms are shorter. I did not want to move the axle back 1" Front shaft was replaced a long time ago. Still running the stock rear shaft but I also have a spare.

When the suspension is lifted, stuff happens. Pinions tilt up, components have to work at steeper angles. These problems may, or may not, need to be corrected. Drive it and decide if a flip is something that 'you' want - don't base it off of someone elses likes/wants. My opinion ... while the lift will cause them to run at steeper angles, the trackbar and draglink are still parallel, right? The steepness might cause you to feel more road feedback, but shouldn't give bumpsteer. If you choose to relocate one of them without also relocating the other - that's when you get the bumpsteer. (I drove with a 4" lift for several years before finally flipping the draglink and raising the trackbar. The ride smoothed out a bit, less body roll with the raised brackets front and back, but not a huge difference) For the driveshaft, don't fall into the theory of I will be ok at x.xx", but if I go over y.yy" I will need to replace. You need to get down and crawl underneath as part of regular maintenance to check for grease splatter --> whether you have a 2.5" lift or a 5+" lift. Taller lifts with steeper angles just means more likelihood of a failure, people with as little as 2.5" have crawled under to find a nice dark ring of grease.

I run a 2 door on a 2.5" stock mod (haven't changed the control arms out yet, it's actually a 2.5" flex) and it netted me about 3-3.5" of lift i drive 35miles one way to work and drive about 80 most of the time, it drives great with the exception of having a little wobble when hitting bumps due to worn drag link bushings. I had to replace the front DS.

this is all good info. This second phase of my build is to get it lifted and hopefully a winch. I will take your advice, and install lift then see how she drives.
third phase will be PS fenders, skid plates, boom mat, bedrug, air compressor, and CB. Fourth phase upgrade stereo and speakers. Thanks
