I just did the 3.5 with 35's and factory flares. IMHO a 2.5 wouldn't be enough once outfitted with bumpers, winch, etc
I personally wouldn't have been happy with the 2.5.
With 37 3.5 is a no brainer

From what I have been reading most people get more than the advertised lift height with the RK lifts. Probably more so with a 2 door since they do not offer a 2 and 4 door specific lift. I would do a search; "how much lift did you get with the RK ...lift?"

You can run the 2.5 inch RK kits with 37's as long as you run flat fenders and bumpstop right. I personally went with the 3.5 inch Max Travel kit with 37's. So far it has worked great for me. Here's a pic of what that looks like, thank you Deucefour for the great photo.

I'm running the RK 2.5" Stock Mod with 37's and have no issues at all. Running 2" bumpstop in the rear, along with coil spring wedges to keep the driver rear spring off the trackbar bolt and everything works out fine. Trim the rear pinch seam, trim the rear of your Rubi rail if you have a Rubicon and run flat flares. Had an issue initially with the passenger rear tire making contact with the pinch seam before I added bumpstop, but it's good now. And I've added a smitty knock-off front bumper, Poison Spyder BFH rear bumper, GenRight steer carrier, and 37" spare. Even though it's totes as a 2.5" lift, I gained just a hair more than 3" of height. Then add in the height difference between 32" stock tires and 37" Trail Grapplers.
Still have more room to flex the front in those last pics, too.

You can run 37's with either height spring. You will need to same bumpstop lengths for either lift (as bump stops are selected based on tire height and NOT lift height), and therefore likely the same length shock. Bumbtop legth will depend on fender choice. So it becomes a question of how much uptravel vs downtravel to you want. The taller the lift, the higher the belley clearance but the less down travel you get, however you get more up travel.
