River Raider Skid Wearing Away Edge Of Tranny Pan...
Just noticed this a few days ago. Looks like the top lip of the transmission skid is flexing and hitting the bottom of the pan
Called up River Raider yesterday and followed up with emailing these pics. Not too psyched since I've only had these since last October... Really don't feel confident wheeling with these as is - hole in the pan would not be a good thing...
Before me sending the pics they suggested cutting or grinding away part of the lip, but I'd have to imagine that taking too much of that lip out would weaken the plate itself since that lip should be keeping the flat portion from bending more?
Anyone else having this problem? Suggestions?

Same with mine, and the exhaust pass'over from the passenger side is pretty-well resting on the skid too.
Might pull the skid, wrap the exhaust and reinstall to dampen the vibration.

I noticed this last week .....My skids were rubbing the trans pan hard also, looked just like yours after about 5k miles. I just took a grinder and cleared about 3/8 of an inch off the edge of the skid. looks like I have pleanty of clearance now but I guess only time will tell
EDIT: I just installed mine in february and the jeep only has 19k miles so it is obviously a design flaw.

My worry with grinding that lip down though is if it will weaken the rest of the steel. Buddy of mine suggested heating it up and trying to bend it out.. I couldn't get a hold of River Raider yesterday to follow up on my pics so hopefully I'll be able to get somewhere with them today.

I did see where mine was touching the pan in same area. Do not have that problem now. I heavily modified the trans skid to work with the FT cross member that came with my long arm kit. Project involved trimming about 1 1/2 inches off back end, then notching corner to clear factory brace on driver side. Also had to bend rear tab to make flush with FT cross brace. Finally I used a BFH to bend the bracket where the connecting bolt attaches the oil pan and trans pan skids.
(Actually TINMAN080 did most of the cutting, bending and welding. Thanks!)
Then I drilled two new holes at rear to attach to FT cross brace.
The FT cross brace is about 3" lower than the factory cross member, which moved my trans skid well away from the transmission oil pan. No more clearance issues.
A couple pictures show where I ground added clearance for the two lines. Probably could have taken more off though because lines are still very close to skid.
