Is it the angle of the picture or is one of the arms on upside down?

I've got the EVO skids and really love them. They bolted up fine and I love the fact they cover exactly what they need to, no extrenous weight is added to my Jeep.

This lip is angled up. It protects the exhaust cross over. Without it the factory exhaust is exposed.

The skids are designed to be as high clearance as possible. We cover the vulnerable areas the factory skids do not cover such as the oil, transmission pan and the exhaust crossover.

The factory skids on the t-case and fuel tank do a great job at protecting them.

I remember seeing the RR skids are prone to bending. Here are a couple pics. This is a member who went the RR route, the RR skids were pretty new but couldn't handle the moderate trail they were wheeling on.

I would run the complete EVO skids.

I've had the River Raider for a couple years on my 2dr and my buddy on his 4dr. The design is good, very smooth belly and good protection. I think they were the best out there two years ago. BUT realize skids are NOT a lifelong part if you use them hard. The one complaint I have about River Raider is the transmission skid. Both my buddy and I continually bend it.

On his it actually contacted the auto trans. I have a stick so my tranny is tucked up more however with the design I am always bending the ears towards the crossmember and get rattles from my exhaust touching it.

Nothing a BFH won't fix but sucks having to take it down etc. This skid either needs to be made out of 1/4" or a reinforced design. But again we use the heck out of our skids and both stock height.

Also the stainless button heads are not a good idea as they get mangled and you have to then weld a hex nut on them to get them out. They need to countersink these and use countersunk non-stainless bolts.

If I had to do it over again I really like the new Clayton skids that replace the crossmember. If they were not available then I'd probably buy the River Raiders again.

We got the EVO skids on our 2 door 2012 Rubicon with no lift or bigger tires and it is the best mod on the Jeep by far!!!!!! Dragged it over several rocks and no bending, just a few scratches. That lip protect the exhaust and will not hang you up. It is facing to the back, so it might just help you when you have to back up on a trail and slide up a rock. Chances of that, less than 1% I think.

As far as the install go's, all of our holes lined up. The only pain in the butt was the one bolt on the transfer case.

Will try in get some pictures from the underside tomorrow and post it up. We were one of the first few to order the 2012 ones and got the red ones.

Happy Jeepin
