Default RIPP - Headers

I have the Ripp Generation 2 SC + air-to-air intercooler. I have been considering getting the Ripp headers. Has anyone with the Ripp Generation 2 SC + air-to-air intercooler added the Ripp headers? If so, I looking for some feedback in regards to any performance gains and engine/exhaust note changes. Any pros / cons would be greatly appreciated.

I had the headers prior to my SC. I would compare the performance gain to a stock JK adding a superchips tune. Another words it was very noticeable. I am running the RIPP headers with a MBRP cat-back. I love the sound. I dont not regret the purchase one bit. I added my supercharger two months later. The combination of the two is awesome. I own a 2012 JKU and my 2007 JK will smoke it.

Pros - no issues with heat period. No melting wires, no melting battery box. Great sound and great quality.

Cons - I have a Tereflex long arm lift so that required some minor cutting on the crossover pipe to clear the right side lower control arm bracket.

just curious - do you know what amount of Horse power you picked up with the headers? I'm very close to doing the RIPP headers; my 2010 4dr. JK auto has a 3½" lift with 35's - I did regear to 4.88 and have an intake and exhaust - but to me is still lethargic.

since i plan to hire a shop to do the work, my cost will be more than most guys here. I estimate 1500+ for material; 1000 for labor? so if i'm out 2500 for an extra 20hp? 30hp? is that worth it?

Only you can answer if it's worth it. Personally, no. If I was going to spend that much money, I'd save a little more and install a SC myself. Just my opinion.

It should not cost $1000 to install at a shop. A buddy had his headers installed at a local shop and they only charged $400 for headers and cat-back. I did not have my JK dyno'd after the install. 20-30hp is what RIPP suggests. I had the money to throw at my jeep so it is easy for me to say it was worth it. But I do enjoy the power gain and the sound. I do not regret my purchase one bit. If your limited on funds only you can decide.

Default headers

I talked to a Ross at ripp, he told me my 2008 has the the worst OEM cat system of all years and I will get HP and TQ gains with the headers equal to half what the SC would give me, since my current cat system is so bad.

I have to much into this jeep to sell for a 2012

Told me I need for sure the tuner and hush power muffler in addition to my dynomax exhaust muffler or it will be unbearably loud and sound like a Honda.

I guess I can sell my hypertec tuner and get something back for it

You can sell your tuner on this site easily. When I bought my headers I bought the package with the Dialbo tuner. Then I bought the supercharger which comes with the Daiblo tuner so I had two of them. Sold the tuner on this site with two weeks. Got a 80% of my money back.

I have the hush power too. As the exhaust gets broke in the tone gets deeper. I have been half tempted to pull the hush power to see how she sounds but I probably won't.

Seriously, if I was to buy another 2007-2011 JK I would not hesitate to buy a set of Ripp headers. My wife has a stock 2012 JKU. I can't hear it and I can't feel it when I drive the thing. I would rather drive my 2007. Granted I have a Ripp SC too. That 2012 can't keep up.

Sergeant Chuck- I've had my RIPP SC on for almost 8 months now and I love it, next thing is going to be the headers, I can't wait. I plan on getting them once I get back from the sand box. It seems like everyone that has RIPP products stand behind the well manufactured products and great customer service!!
