Rims, Wheels, Lift Kit Advice
Hey all!
First post here! Here it goes....I currently have an '07 Sahara Unlimited. Over the next two weeks i will either be purchasing a 2012 Sahara Unlimited or a Rubi Unlimited. i have always wanted to buy a lift and put new rims and tires on. I am looking at LT 265/65R17 BFGoodrich All-Terrain tires and XD798 Addict Series rims 17x9, 5x5-1/2 bolt pattern, 18 mm offset. i will also be adding a 3.5" lift.
Will that tire and rim combo work? Would there be any rubbing with that lift?
Any other problems with that combination?
Thank you!

Welcome! Your going to be unimpressed with how that looks because of how small those tires are. You won't have any rubbing issues at all. I made that mistake (tire size/2.5" lift) as did many others on here. It's all personal preference but figured I'd give .2 and tell u to go 35's or at least a true 33" tire..

I am no expert at this stuff but I think you have some issues with this build. If I did the conversion on the tires right those are only 31" in diameter. That's smaller than the factory rubis. I believe all jks also have 5x5 bolt pattern for the wheels.

The stock tire is about 32" tall. What you're thinking to get is a 30.6" tall tire. Why would you want to go smaller? Then you want a 3" lift, which will make your tire look even smaller. If you don't want to upsize your tires, then get the same size as the stock tire. Also, don't get a lift, as it will look weird. If you want a lift, get bigger tires to go with it.

A stock jku can take 33" tires with flat fenders. With a 2.5" lift you can run 35" tires without rubbing. If you put a three inch lift on it and put 31" tires it will look like a roller skate. I would say 35" tires are what you would want with a 3" lift. Keep in mind though at the 3" lift area and beyond you start having issues with drive shafts and may need adjustable control arms to help with the flighty steering.
